Jim Rohn, who is without a doubt my favorite business philosopher and motivational trainer has written and taught for decades that your personal philosophy is one of the critical pieces of the life puzzle. In fact, he says getting your philosophy right determines the outcome of your life itself.
I am reminded of this every day, sometimes more than once. Each time I experience these reminders, I motivate myself to do a personal philosophy check.
This morning after church service, I had a brief conversation with my good friend Charlie about how to address some problems within our church. We talked about how to avoid burning people out while attracting and training more volunteers.
I know that I am looked at as a leader and a committed committee chair. The powerful opportunity and ability I have to help people reach their goals cam into clear focus during my conversation with Charlie. In fact, I felt a compulsion to work harder and smarter to improve my leadership skills and help more people.
Later that day, I saw a friend as I was leaving the gym where I work out. He complained about “making no money” when he used to work there. He also said his commute to his new job was a “bear”. I knew his philosophy was all about him, what can he get and have for himself with the least amount of effort and risk.
Your philosophy is that set of core principles and values that largely define who you are as a person, the choices you make and how you implement them. Getting clear about your philosophy, beliefs and attitudes is essential in your success or failure in network marketing.
When I learned how to detach myself from my agenda and internalized a genuine desire to help other people reach their goals, that is when I began to engage in the correct businesss building activities with good results.
What about you? What do you believe? It is fine to want to live a great life, I certainly do. You must truly focus on helping other people reach their goals. The more you do that, they will in time come back and help you go wherever you want.
